Agricultural Irrigation
Center Pivot Irrigation: In this training, irrigators learn how to select and manage center pivot irrigation systems, including types of drive systems, telescoping, water applicators, and chemigation.
On Farm Water Metering: In this training, irrigators, groundwater district personnel, state agencies and others involved in the irrigation industry learn how to measure and monitor water use in both open channel and pipeline systems.
Wind Pumping Workshop: This course teaches students basic hydraulic principles to design and operate pumping systems that use wind energy. Students will also learn how to determine peak irrigation water requirements, calculate irrigated area and determine storage requirements.
Solar Pumping Workshop: This course teaches students basic hydraulic principles to design and operate pumping systems that use solar energy. Students will also learn how to determine peak irrigation water requirements, calculate irrigated area and determine storage requirements.
Landscape Irrigation
Courses approved by TCEQ for Landscape Irrigation CEUs:
Electrical Troubleshooting for Landscape Irrigation: This course covers the basic science of electricity and how to safely wire and troubleshoot an electrical system powering and irrigation system.Students learn topics such as proper wire sizing, wire insulation, National Electrical Code requirements and electrical safety. Grants 8 Hours TCEQ CEU.
Courses NOT approved for TCEQ Landscape Irrigation CEUs:
Landscape Water Budgeting: This course teaches students to use different methods to calculate water budgets, including how to produce seasonal irrigation schedules and proper zone an irrigation system based on plant water requirements. Grants no hours TCEQ CEU.
